Worlds Safest Banks

I had a discussion with a colleague the other day as the Dubai Debt Crisis was starting. He was concerned about keeping his money in HSBC. He has all of his assets at HSBC. Firstly I suggested he divide up his assets between some banks and locales. As well only giving to banks that do no commercial services…lending…IPOs..etc. Basically some of the smaller banks that have been around for centuries. These small banks have weathered history from World War1 and World 2 as well as the Great Depression. As well I suggested he look at the yearly listing from Global Finance Magazine. However I would not use this as the Bible. My personal reason is that I believe it was in 2008 Global Finance Magazine had listed Dexia bank which later had severe issues.

Below is the 2009 Worlds Safest Banks list from Global Finance Magazine. Do your own homework and most of all diversify..
