Andrew Abraham

andy-0101 My name in Andrew Abraham. I have been investing in commodities and managed futures since 1994. I adhere to the philosophy of trend following. Trend following stresses a disciplined approach to commodity/ futures trading. Successful trend following and commodity futures investing requires patience, discipline and actively managing the risk. What sets me apart from other traders is that I am not only concerned about the return on investment but how much risk I will have to tolerate to achieve my goals.

Investors with Commodity trading Advisors must do their work

Too many people who invest with Commodity trading Advisors think it is Easy!.

The truth could not be further removed. Too many think they deserve to get consistent 20-30% returns year in and year out. Once the Inevitable draw down occurs these investors get shocked and some even run for the door.

Trend following and investing with commodity trading advisors takes work.

You must realize that there will be not just draw downs but months and even years in which you do not make profits.

However if you truly believe that trend following is a life time strategy that you can compound your way to wealth …..Then you are doing your work.

I have seen both successful investors in commodity trading advisors as well as investors in trend following methodologies go through the repeated cycle of hitting new equity peaks to later going through draw downs & once again hitting even higher equity peaks. They do not quit. They know that draw downs and the durations of the draw downs are they work they must go through in order to be successful.

If you want to succeed in trend following. Do your work! Trend following is a life time strategy which can enable you to compound your way to wealth.

  • Excellent post on investment advisors! I really enjoyed reading it, and my site is about Asset Protection so I’m not just saying is lightly. Keep up the great work!

  • Thanks for this great post on investment advisors, I was searching for something along the lines of this and in the top 20 results at google, yours was the most informed and well presented. I was wondering, do you think Asset Protection would make a great topic for a future post here? Or did you do that already?
