Andrew Abraham

andy-0101 My name in Andrew Abraham. I have been investing in commodities and managed futures since 1994. I adhere to the philosophy of trend following. Trend following stresses a disciplined approach to commodity/ futures trading. Successful trend following and commodity futures investing requires patience, discipline and actively managing the risk. What sets me apart from other traders is that I am not only concerned about the return on investment but how much risk I will have to tolerate to achieve my goals.

The Bear Market That Has Not Happened (Yet)

It seemed like the perfect storm, it seemed so obvious that a Bear Market will occur. There were record foreclosures, record falling home prices, record European budget deficits, fear of the implosion of the EU and the possibility of a U.S. dollar crash.

Contrary to all the bad news the stock market has gained 9.8 percent this year and 20 percent since hitting the lows in 2010. If you had listened to gurus such as Nouriel Roubini, Robert Prechter,Gary Shilling or Albert Edwards you would have missed the chance to profit or worse if you went short you would be licking your wounds.

This again exemplifies my thoughts that our opinions and the opinions of gurus do not matter.

Everyone wants to be told what to do. It is easier than taking responsibility for yourself.

Instead of listening to Gurus…You will never miss a move either up or down when you have a sound robust trend following model. You do not need to predict or listen to Gurus.

Predicting can be dangerous to your financial well being.
