MF Global Bankruptcy has Global Implications

I received an email from Australia this morning. He brings out great points.
He is so right about this statement

How this matter is dealt with will set a precedent going forward for the treatment of “segregated accounts”.

If client’s do not receive 100% of their funds then I would have to cease trading.

He is not alone, I have spoken to many others that are contemplating trading stocks or cease all together. How is money safe? What is the difference between a stock account or a bank account. In my opinion on how this issue has been handled, NOTHING! People need to realize this. CME volume will dry up and shift to other exchanges. The CFTC will not have anything to regulate nor the NFA! The financial integrity of the US is at stake.

Hi Andrew

I am following your website’s coverage of the MF Global collapse with great interest.

How this matter is dealt with will set a precedent going forward for the treatment of “segregated accounts”.

If client’s do not receive 100% of their funds then I would have to cease trading.

I have ambitions of starting a fund here in Australia but after this mess, I am not prepared to take the risk of being an unsecured creditor should the FCM decide to gamble with client’s funds.

I execute my trades through Mirus / Dorman clearing and attach undertakings from both firms that they do not use client’s monies for the purposes of trading.

Jon Corzine and his cohorts should go to jail for defrauding clients of their money.
