Andrew Abraham

andy-0101 My name in Andrew Abraham. I have been investing in commodities and managed futures since 1994. I adhere to the philosophy of trend following. Trend following stresses a disciplined approach to commodity/ futures trading. Successful trend following and commodity futures investing requires patience, discipline and actively managing the risk. What sets me apart from other traders is that I am not only concerned about the return on investment but how much risk I will have to tolerate to achieve my goals.

Trend Following & Making Good Trading Decisions

Trend following is like baseball. You constantly are pitched. You need to know when to swing. You need to swing at those pitches which are over the plate. One of the greatest baseball players was Ted Williams. He was the last person to cross the .400 barrier. Putting this into perspective; he failed to get a hit 60% of the time. He had his idea of a perfect pitch….

This is like trend following. You need to swing at the perfect pitches even though you have no idea if the trade will work. What this means is you try to get the ball over the plate….Look for strong markets…look to buy retrenchments…Manage your risk……know what you can lose on a trade ahead of time….be consistent…

The perfect pitch is what fits as part of our trading plan….This trading plan must match your personality…

Williams batting average dropped off when he swung outside his core, and so to will ours. Following your trading plan. It will be tough…there will be strike outs….but there will be rare home runs…

Past performance is not indicative of future performance…
