Andrew Abraham

andy-0101 My name in Andrew Abraham. I have been investing in commodities and managed futures since 1994. I adhere to the philosophy of trend following. Trend following stresses a disciplined approach to commodity/ futures trading. Successful trend following and commodity futures investing requires patience, discipline and actively managing the risk. What sets me apart from other traders is that I am not only concerned about the return on investment but how much risk I will have to tolerate to achieve my goals.

I have a colleague who forwarded me this information. Actually it is from a system developer Keith Fitschen.
Quoting Keith…

I’ve been trading and developing trading strategies for over 25 years. Since 1993, I’ve been marketing commodity futures trading systems to the public. My most popular trading system is the Aberration trading system, which has four times been named, “One of the Top Ten Trading Systems of All Time” by Futures Truth. And in 2011, I released a shorter-term commodity futures trading strategy that I call Clipper. All my commodity systems have been trend-following in nature, but recently I BECAME CONVINCED THAT THE US COMMODITY MARKETS NO LONGER TREND. I don’t make that statement lightly: trend-following has been my religion all my trading life. But the markets are now clearly in a new mode, and it’s the purest I’ve ever seen.

This is a very powerful statement from someone in the field since 1993. However as much as past performance is not indicative of future performance…there will always be floods..droughts…govt interference…wars…etc…These unexpected acts possibly can cause prices to move more than one would ever expect. Trading is never easy. Trend Following is never easy….Actually this is one of the toughest periods I can ever recall however many old timers have repeatedly heard the same …US COMMODITY MARKETS NO LONGER TREND

One old timer in particular is 80 years young. He has heard it all…He has seen it all….He always had losses…He always have had draw downs. However when he would least expect it…he made money in a market he never expected…but again…maybe this time is different?

Maybe Keith Fitschen is correct THAT THE US COMMODITY MARKETS NO LONGER TREND this is what makes up trading….Everyone has opinions…Markets will do whatever they will do.

Past Performance is not indicative of future performance
